Simon Gagne Retires After 14 NHL Seasons

Simon Gagne, the longtime Flyers left winger, has retired from the NHL, according to an ESPN.com report on Tuesday.

"Today, I want to thank my trainers and teammates," Gagne said in a news release. "You inspired me to surpass myself. You made me understand that you need more than talent; it takes sacrifice and discipline and you need to work harder than your rivals. I also wish to thank my fans. Every evening, you energized me and inspired me to perform."

A two-time All-Star, Gagne spent 14 seasons in the NHL, including 11 with the Flyers.

Bryce Salvador Retires After 14 NHL Seasons

Devils defenseman Bryce Salvador has retired after nearly 800 games in 14 NHL seasons.

The NHLPA announced Salvador's retirement on Wednesday.

Salvador was a captain for the Devils the past three seasons but missed all but 15 games last season with a back injury.
